Felix opened the door to his quarters, soon after Felix stepped in, carrying a box of his personal items which he previously had on the USS Homerunner. Felix started unpacking almost immediately, putting a various datapads into drawers, and off duty clothes. One notable item Felix had was a picture outlining Alaska, Felix promptly placed the picture over his bed to help remind him of home. After the unpacking was finally finished Felix wondered about what he should do first on the station. (edited)

She entered her room, to see boxes everywhere. She sighed and started to unpack her things. She put her clothes into a bin, and her personal items on her desk and in her drawers. After she was done unpacking, she sat on her bed, folded her legs, and started to meditate as best she could.

In about 30 minutes, she fell asleep for a few hours. Upon waking, she didn’t feel too great, but it’s better than nothing. “Ugh.. maybe I’ll go grab something to eat.” She said. She pulled on her Starfleet uniform and put her hair into a neat bun. She donned her black gloves and started to make her way out the door.

Opening the door, she walked inside. She put her stature on a shelf next to her other artifacts, a collection that she wishes to grow. She pulled out her PADD and sent a message to OPS to request a dog. She found that her life here was rather empty and thought a companion may remedy the issue.

Not too long after Lorin had put in the request, Renakir showed up! Renakir was a tall Romulan-Reman man, nearly a foot taller than Lorin (although he was an inch shorter than Alizati). Grey skin, floppy ears, forehead ridges, there was no chance he could hide his hybrid origins. He wore his uniform standard issue, trousers with neatly ironed shirt. The only thing that was not standard was his dark sunglasses that obscured his eyes. Renakir chimed the bell and waited for a response. Whilst he waited he gave the friendly golden retriever head pats.

Lorin opened the door, smiling slightly upon seeing the dog. “Hello! Thank you for responding to my request so quickly!”

"Well the transport was docking at 777 today," Renakir said to her. He had the dog on a leash which he held in his hands. Long grey fingers with naturally black fingernails, that was something new. He stood with perfect posture, an air of calm around him. "I assume you are Ensign Lorin Redwood?" The only other person in these quarters was... Not humanoid. So she must have been the one who put in the request. The name sounded terran, but that made sense considering she was half human, at least according to the roster. Renakir always checked the roster. Maybe it was him being incredibly Romulan, but he always wanted to know who he was working around.

“Yes, I am. And you are?” She asked, patting the dog’s head.

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 01-Sep-22 01:58 AM
Renakir handed the officer the leash so she could take the dog. He also had a small bag around his shoulder with the accessories she had ordered. Terran animals were much different from Romulan ones. For one; they weren't combat trained. Maybe not so useful on a peaceful Federation Starbase, but the Romulan inside him was wondering how the animals would defend themselves in case of an attack. Or why would anyone get a pet if not to take out their political enemies. Trying not to think of murder for two seconds, Renakir turned his head away from Lorin for a brief moment before looking back at her. "Lieutenant Junior Grade Renakir Solait Torre'vnau," He gave his full name this time, she was Vulcan so he assumed she'd want to know his full name, they were formal like that, right? "You may call me Renakir or Solait, I understand the Reman language is difficult," He didn't say it but he always liked hearing his name 'Renakir'. Maybe it was because he spent his whole life having to hide his Reman heritage that being called 'Solait' but anyone other than family felt... Sad. "You are half Vulcan? I'm a hybrid as well, Reman and Romulan."

“I am. Is there any paperwork I’ll have to sign or anything? I’m a bit new to this starbase.” She said, taking the leash and the bag.

Another hybrid! Renakir gave her a half smile when she responded. He'd smile more if he didn't still feel worried about showing his pointy teeth. It was nice to meet another hybrid, a Vulcanoid too, he didn't want to scare her away. He handed the bag to Lorin with all the things she had ordered and then took out a PADD. "I am just going to confirm you accepted the delivery and you will get an order completion notification in your inbox later today," Renakir explained to her as he clicked some buttons. "May I ask, why the terran animal? I know we're in Federation space, but golden retriever, is there a particular reason?"

“I knew several people who had them when I was in the Academy. I grew fond of them, but I haven’t been able to get one of my own until now. I have a soft spot for Terran animals in general.” She replied, thinking of the cats, dogs, and birds she met while befriending her human classmates. She wasn’t so fond of the raccoon who chased her when she disembarked from the shuttle that brought her to Earth, however.

"They are cute. When I lived in France my roommate had a couple birds. I thought they were some attack force when I saw them because well amongst Romulans, we have pet birds too but they have poison talons," Renakir said as if it was just every day you kept a bird with poisoned talons around to take out your political enemies. He quickly realised what he just said and waved his hands. "I'm sorry, oh no I didn't mean to say that. I swear that's not the only reason Romulans have pets. We think about other things besides how to best take out our enemies," Renakir's voice was a little panicked as he spoke. Despite this he was actually a naturally soft spoken guy, he was a Vulcanoid after all with sensitive hearing.

“Poison talons. Interesting. And I hold no prejudice in my heart, either. It would be quite hypocritical of me to do that, with how devoted to IDIC I am.” She said. She was normally quiet as well, easily blending into the background. Being singled out never ended well for her. It was this reason why she had such mixed feelings about going into Surak Snacks- the possibility of being judged by someone was low but never zero, a place so Vulcan wouldn’t sit well with her utterly human traits, she thought. This feeling/assumption of hers was untrue, but she did not know that.

"I swear Romulans are nice people, anyway I hope you enjoy the dog," Renakir could not take back what he said about raising animals to take out political enemies. It was what his father had taught him and yes he really did think about murder that often. The true plague of the Romulan people. Why couldn't they have wholesome thoughts. As Renakir shifted his weight between his legs he clasped his hands behind his back and bowed his head. "Oh I also want to mention I have a new pet too, she's a Romulan Epohh, her name is Kali-fal Madeleine," All this talk about how Romulans were normal dudes, yet here he was naming his pet after Romulan ale, way to be a stereotype. "We're going to be visiting Surak Snacks later, maybe she could meet your new child? My dad works as a waiter there, it's a nice place," Renakir said, hoping to get more visitors for Tiravurik. His dad really liked seeing his friends.

“I have been trying to visit all of the places on the utility deck. I would enjoy accompanying you. Do they allow dogs? And, your epohh sounds adorable. I would love to visit her.” Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad if I was with other people, she thought.

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 01-Sep-22 03:22 AM
"As long as your pet is quiet and doesn't disturb other guests. Kali-fal Madeleine is calm and your dog seems calm too. Well I'll be heading there after my shift today so you're welcome to join. I just started work though, so it'll be another seven hours," Renakir wished he didn't have such a long day ahead of him, he wanted to play with his epohh! Checking his PADD once again he could see her vitals and it seemed like she was having a good sleb as her heart rate and body temperature had dropped. That was good, maybe it wouldn't be too bad, especially since epohhs needed to sleep every day. "Surak Snacks is a nice place... I want to visit there more often. They have Reman and Romulan food too if you've ever wanted to try. I especially love the Biscae Biscuits, highly recommend," Of course he had to promote the food of his hometown!

"No not at all. You know I like animals a lot. I just wish my father wasn't allergic to them," Renakir said with a soft sigh. Oh how he wished he could bring his epohh with him to work. "Do you have an idea what to name your new pet? I didn't even check the gender," He only escorted the dog to Lorin's quarters, but Renakir was the type to get attached to animals after the first meeting. Perhaps it was because he was Reman and they were known to be friendly with wildlife. He readjusted his sunglasses on his face, trying not to pay attention to how warm it was all over the station. Seriously, the Reman physiology was inconvenient.

“I have been thinking about the name Bailey. I also like animals, though I usually do better around domesticated animals. Back when I knew nothing about Terran animals, I got chased by a raccoon because I didn’t know what it was. Not the best start to my time in the Academy.” She said. Bailey was the name of the dog her father had before he moved to Vulcan and married his mother. She had vowed to herself to name any pet she acquired the same name.

Lt. JG. Renakir Torre'vnau | OPS BOT 01-Sep-22 04:17 AM
"Bailey," Renakir repeated the name, smiling ever so slightly. He listened to her story about chasing a raccoon and let out a soft chuckle. Terran animals were really something, although Romulan animals were no joke either. There was something to be said about sharing a planet with animals that were not trained to kill you. No one tell Renakir about what's in Australia. ”Hey that sounds better than me. When I was at the academy I was scared of literally any and all animals. When I visited China I nearly broke down with anxiety the first time I saw a panda," Renakir told her, remembering his time in China quite fondly. He heard they had some funky animals a bit more south in Vietnam too.

Ensign Lorin Redwood | SCI BOT 01-Sep-22 04:22 AM
“Oh, that was me but with people. After the raccoon incident, I did some research about Terran animals and I wasn’t afraid of them anymore. Humans, however, that was a different story.” She said. People were too unpredictable. A raccoon could attack you for food or to defend its territory, but a person could attack you purely for their own pleasure or for the amusement of others. She had enough experience being hated and ignored to be wary of anyone and everyone.

"People? Yeah people on earth are scary you got that right," More like he scared people on earth. Ugh, it made Renakir frustrated just thinking about it. He liked living in France, he considered himself the most French Romulan to have ever lived, but it didn't change the years of prejudice he faced. He sighed and looked at the dog who was sitting nicely at Lorin's feet now. "Well, I'll let you know when I go to Surak Snacks, umm, give Bailey lots of love," He waved to Lorin and the dog. "Jolan tru."

She turned to Bailey, who was wagging her tail. She closed the door and unhooked her from her leash. “Oh, aren’t you an adorable little thing.” she said. She opened the bag and took the bowls out of it, setting them by the door. She tossed a toy to Bailey before putting a bag of dog food into a cabinet. She hung the leash by the door and sat back to watch Bailey play.

“Bailey! Come on, we’re going for a walk!” She said to the dog. Bailey, not quite recognizing her name, nonetheless came over at the prospect of a walk. She clipped her leash to her collar and opened the door.

Attached to the message was a collection of holophotos automatically taken from various locations during the scavenger hunt, similar to ride photos on a rollercoaster. There was one from each key moment during their adventure, showing the best moments off. Each photo was angled to capture everyone involved so no one was left out, and they were all perfectly timed to show the happiest moments the group experienced.

Lorin turned to her dog. “Bailey, I’ll be gone for a few days. I have set the timer to feed you and I have paid someone to walk you. Don’t miss me too much.” Bailey put her head in the Vulcan’s lap, but Lorin was firm. She got up, grabbed her bag, gave the dog one last pat, and headed out the door.
